Serving the Underserved; Learning on Campus. Unlike other dental clinics, our clinic is part of a dental teaching institution, the Arizona School of Dentistry & Oral Health (ASDOH). Dentistry in the community is an integral part of the curriculum for dental students at A.T. Still University’s Arizona School of Dentistry & Oral Health (ATSU-ASDOH). ATSU-ASDOH collaborates with more than 50 local community organizations including local schools, long-term care facilities, American Indian reservations, Boys & Girls Clubs, Head Start Programs, and other non-profit and social service organizations. As an affiliate training site of the NYU Langone Dental Medicine Advanced Education in General Dentistry Program, we train 14 residents annually of which 2 positions are PGY2's.  Residents treat a diverse patient population, many medically compromised, kidney transplant patients, and head and neck cancer patients before and after their radiation/chemo/surgical treatment. ATSU-ASDOH has an affiliation with Phoenix Children's Hospital hemophilia clinic to provide dental services to their patients. The training site also has two TMD/Orofacial Pain Management specialists and a sleep apnea specialist that work with the residents.  CAD/CAM and a 3D printer are also available for resident use. The Dental Clinic at ASDOH offers advanced and specialized services including: Laser therapy, periodontal therapy, Cone Beam CT technology. A resident will gain experience in preventive, general, and cosmetic dentistry, located at the Mesa, AZ dental care suite. The following services are provided at this location: exams, cleanings, sealants, fillings, crowns, bridges, root canals, periodontal therapy, dental implants, laser therapy, digital x-rays, and in-office sedation.
