Phoenix – We are different. This opportunity offers real world, pediatric dental office experience in a state-of-the-art, twelve chair office in the heart of Phoenix. If you want a taste of what your life will actually be like as a practicing pediatric dentist, there is NO comparable experience in any program in the United States.

Approximately 80% of the patient population at this office utilizes Arizona’s Medicare program, while the other 20% are privately insured through PPOs. The practice sees an average of 30 patients per day. Unlike slower, hospital and clinic-based programs, at the Phoenix Pediatric Dentistry Residency Program, you will be challenged by a fast-paced, hands-on learning experience with some of the most celebrated pediatric dentists in the country.

The practice is equipped with top-of-the-line equipment, paperless charting, digital radiography, an iTero machine, flat panel cable TV monitors in each operatory, LED lighting, an oral sedation room, and an additional anesthesia suite.

The current faculty consists of two full time Board Certified Pediatric Dentists and one Orthodontist who oversee all aspects of clinical care, patient outreach, staffing, and the like. If you choose this site, you will also be able to learn the business-side of the practice – an experience you cannot get anywhere else.

This residency site places a large emphasis on continuing care for dentally healthy children, medically complex children, pediatric sedation, pediatric general anesthesia, and in-patient and out-patient pediatric medicine. The site is affiliated with the top children’s hospital in Arizona, Phoenix Children’s Hospital, which for the 13th consecutive year has been ranked in U.S. News & World Report Phoenix Children’s among the nation’s “Best Children’s Hospitals.”

Residents are provided experience in moderate sedation using all modality of medication administration (nasal, intravenous, intramuscular and oral). The residents will complete sedation and general anesthesia cases well beyond the number required by CODA accreditation standards.
