Comprehensive care facility in Worcester. Family Health Center of Worcester (FHCW) is a full-service health center open to all residents of Worcester and surrounding areas. The Center began serving inner city residents of Worcester in 1970. FHCW operates four primary care teams at two locations, six school-based health centers, a Walk-In Center for urgent and primary care, Dental Department, Social Services Department, WIC Program, Ryan White HIV/AIDS Early Intervention Services Program, Homeless Families Program, Refugee Health Program, Suboxone Program, Specialty Clinics, Pharmacy, Lab, and Radiology to complete the continuum of care. The Dental Department sees 6,500 adult and pediatric patients per year. The number of unique dental patients per month is to 1,500 yielding 18,000 visits per year. The facility has nine dental operatories equipped with digital x-rays. The staff includes five staff dentists, additional precepting, community-based dentists, three hygienists, and experienced assistants. FHCW provides dental care for children at a school-based health center in Worcester, as well as the Judith Ruskin Oral Health Clinic at Webster Middle School, and the Southbridge Head Start Program, both in South Worcester County. FHCW is a Joint Commission Accredited health organization dedicated to improving the health and well-being of all residents in the Greater Worcester area, especially culturally diverse populations. Staff at the facility are fluent in over 30 languages. The Dental Department provides comprehensive oral health services for both adults and children. Residents will provide preventative care, prosthetic, restorative care oral surgery and limited periodontic services.
